The Temple of Ramesses II in Abydos
Mission Statement

The goal of the project is to make available a comprehensive, convenient, up-to-date study covering all aspects of the temple of Ramesses II in Abydos and its precinct. The results will appear in a series of published volumes intended to serve as important contributions to our knowledge of ancient Egyptian temples and their activities, particularly those of the reign of Ramesses II, focusing on his first years. This work will provide as well new perspectives on the role of the Temple of Ramesses II within the context of the sacred site of Abydos, its monuments, and festivals during the Ramesside period and later times.
